While I know this blogging thing is not a new idea, it is for me. So here we go...
I like to do a lot of exploring, and having moved to New York relatively recently (a year and a half ago), I am still learning and seeing new things every day. I've also created a list of things to do in New York which I regularly update; some may call me OCD for this. Just so you get an idea of the types of things and places I like to frequent, here are some items on my list in random order:
Bronx Zoo
Coney Island
Empire State Building
Bowlmor Lanes
Pastis
Brooklyn Aquarium
Junior's (in Brooklyn, not Time's Square)
the pizza place under the Brooklyn Bridge thats name I can't remember right now
Museum of the Native American
Awash (Ethiopian restaurant)
Blue Note Jazz
Cleopatra's Needle
Murray's Bagels
The Apollo
Prospect Park
Botanical Gardens
Bowery Ballroom
Trip to Boston and D.C. on the Chinatown bus
I'm sure to most people, none or very few of these places seem interesting; but I'm pretty easily pleased and would be fulfilled if at least once a month I could check something off of my list.
With that long preface, I like to look at different people's reviews from time to time. Actually, all of the time. I like to read reviews if possible before I go anywhere. Like a movie for instance, or a hotel, a restaurant, you get the idea. However, even if the reviews are not so good, it doesn't necessarily hinder my inclination to go if I really wanted to do it anyway. I'm stubborn. Also, many, many of these wise patrons words of wisdom and mixed experiences have been very helpful in several instances...which finally leads me to why I started this blog. It is intended to be a review of sorts, mostly just of my different ventures and interests--unless you have specific suggestions on cool places.
To sum it up, I do hope that whomever happens to come across my think tank finds my experiences helpful, and truly appreciates the time I've put into it. We can agree to disagree. All comments, questions, suggestions, and conversation are welcome and encouraged.
Thanks and Peace,
Seattle Native
